About SayWrite

One line: SayWrite is a private dictation app for Mac: hold Fn, talk, and clean text appears wherever you type — all on your Mac.

Short description: SayWrite is a dictation app for Macs with Apple silicon. Hold the Fn key, talk, and the text is typed wherever your cursor is. Speech recognition runs on the Mac with NVIDIA's Parakeet model on the Neural Engine, and optional AI Polish rewrites rambling speech into clean writing using on-device or local AI. There are no accounts and no cloud processing. SayWrite is free during early access and was made by Charlie Temkin.

Mostly studio teal, paper for text, voice mint for highlights, and on-air red only for “live” and the one main button on a screen. Buttons in red use studio-teal text.

The wordmark sets “Say” in Onest ExtraBold and “Write” in Instrument Serif Italic: bold sans for what you say, italic serif for what gets written. Labels use JetBrains Mono. All three are open fonts under the SIL Open Font License.

Using the marks

• Please use the files as they are: don't recolor, stretch, rotate or add effects.
• Leave clear space around the icon of at least a quarter of its width.
• Below 32 pixels, use the small icon, which drops the red dot and uses heavier strokes.
• Write the name as one word with a capital W: SayWrite.
